Francesca Virginia Coppola
Born in Rome (Italy), I currently live and work in the suburban area of Rome, in the middle of a regional park. In my varied and diverse approaches to making art, my work ranges from the context of outdoor site-specific installations to intimate works on paper or canvas, as well as collage, assemblage, video, and found objects. All my artistic production is characterized by the need to show fragile and evocative images that are often contemplative. My work is often created without the use of any artificial gear such as colors or brushes. I usually use paper, natural elements from which I extract pigments and my hands. My work is meant to evoke a poetic yet strong image of what we are as humans on this earth, and also to express a strong aesthetic pleasure while looking at selected natural elements. In this sense, it is meant to be mentally but also visually engaging.
