Marjolein Witte (Eindhoven, 1979) lives and works in Utrecht. Color explosions, geometric shapes, large installations and plant confetti. These elements form Witte’s diverse work. The construction of our environment is the thematic thread. Frames, rules, manipulation and territoriality are some of the themes Witte is researching, wondering how she relates to those elements. Sometimes subtle, at other times with a mild activist undertone; but always with attention to form, color and composition. Witte is represented by Josilda da Conceição Gallery in Amsterdam. Her work has been shown at the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, at Big Art Zaandam and at Barfotastigen in Finland.
