Country: United States
I am an artist working in encaustic (beeswax, tree resin and pigment) and found material. I work with up-cycled material to give a second life to the discarded and to create more environmental value. In turn, these materials help add texture to my work and create distorted grids, both key elements to my aesthetic. In 2020 I curated an exhibition for Art Gowanus ArtWalk on Atlantic, UPCYCLING: Transforming the Discarded into Art. The exhibition featured the work of six Brooklyn artists (including myself) who use upcyled material in their work. The show was featured on the Art Hag Blog. I have been accepted to the Chateau d'Orquevaux Artist Residency, in Orquevaux, France, for 2021-2022 and was awarded The Denis Diderot A-i-R Grant. My work has been shown in galleries throughout New York and Connecticut and is part of private collections across the country. I work and live in Brooklyn.
