Grey Reef Shark at Coral Reef

Grey Reef Shark at Coral Reef

description

As an artist and teacher naturalist for the Massachusetts Audubon Society, BARD brings together her backgrounds and expertise to highlight iconic animals and their changing habitats. Using the glass medium as a lens, these pieces show the dichotomy of thriving habitats versus what they look like today as threats to their survival persist. The top layers are belied by the underlying image that strips away and undermines the scene in front. However, each of these habitats and animals are still here and the dominant image can be a reality again with hard work across the globe. BARD highlights beauty and the dynamic nature of the wild, exposing what is in danger of being lost, and what we have to fight for. Acrylic enamel paint on acrylic glass 8in x 8.5in x 1in
