Pret a Porter (woodland)

Pret a Porter (woodland)

description

Pret a Porter evokes the day when textiles were not made on a mass scale and when materials came from natural sources. This piece uses a factory-made dress as the "frame" that is transformed into a whimsical object that cannot actually be worn. About 5000 pressed and painted woodland sunflower (helianthus divaricatus) petals were attached to a commercially sold dress using a gel adhesive. A hanger completes the artifice.
