Returning to the River

Returning to the River

description

Returning to the River, 2018, 70 West 139th St. Lobby,
Mosaic and Clay Impressions, (8'x17'x6"). Research into this site showed that the Lenape had a hunting ground here by the banks of the Harlem River. This building is a low-income luxury building, an anomaly. It has joined Harlem’s fame, shown as a set of film strips. The 4 trees in front of the building were cast in clay with 3D Mosaic leaves protruding.
