Womb of Gaia: Moment by moment, breath by breath

Womb of Gaia: Moment by moment, breath by breath

description

This was a meditation walk while collecting marine plastics from the shoreline of Gwithian, Cornwall. Inspired by the beautiful ocean, that once used to be pristine, clear seawater and now the pain of a world full of plastics which are killing our ancient relatives and their eco-systems. I started to research the effect plastics were having on marine life. This has been a twenty year quest of raising awareness of the suffering we are causing intelligent whales, dolphins as well as seabirds. In fact the human race, ultimately. We originated from the oceans as a single cell, yet we harm the womb of the planet we live on. This became an installation of the plastics I found in a small stretch of Gwithian beach all contained in seawater, like their own toxic womb.
